Abstract
Infirmière, membre de la Première Nation des Pekuakamiulnuatsh, Bibiane Courtois contribue dans les années 1980 au développement de soins adaptés à la culture des Premières Nations. Élue présidente de Femmes Autochtones du Québec en 1983, elle est la première femme autochtone nommée à la Commission des droits de la personne et au Conseil du statut de la femme du Québec. L’ouvrage Kanatukuhitshesht nous transporte dans le long et passionnant portage marché par Bibiane Courtois auprès de son Nuhtaui pour apprendre à sentir, goûter, défendre le territoire... pour prendre soin de l’identité ilnue.
