Abstract
Cette publication consacrée aux paysages linguistiques urbains est diviséeen deux volets, qui séparent deux ensembles géographiques que nousavons souhaité intégrer dans notre réflexion : l’Asie, l’Océanie, l’Amériqueet l’Afrique (en y intégrant notamment les espaces insulaires) d’une part,l’Europe (en allant jusqu’au Caucase et au Moyen-Orient), d’autre part.Cette réflexion collective s’inscrit donc dans le cadre d’une sociolinguistiquevivante, dans la lignée des travaux de Landry et Bourhis (1997),que nous interrogeons ici en posant la question suivante : les paysageslinguistiques urbains, tels qu’ils se laissent observer un peu partout sur laplanète, sont-ils des reflets fidèles ou des images déformées de la diversitésociolinguistique ? Afin de répondre à cette question, nous avons sollicitéun collectif d’auteurs et d’autrices susceptibles de nous proposer desanalyses d’études de cas originales et rarement, voire jamais, abordéesdans la littérature sur les paysages linguistiques.
