Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

Summary We compare the event timings associated with glacial seismicity temperature change extracted from geophones to determine the temperature / seismicity relationship. We find that, overall, seismicity after year-of-day 262 (September 19, 2019) occurs continuously through the 24 hours of each day, and that sunrise and subsequent heating triggers most of the seismicity days 260–262. Sunset does not trigger significant seismicity on any day. Data from a station on the exposed slope on the windy North East of the survey compared with sheltered stations more susceptible to snow cover suggests snow cover almost entirely insulates the geophones from solar heating. For future monitoring of glaciers based on seismicity, temperature, and snow cover, we recommend a mix of geophone stations exposed to, and isolated from snow cover.

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
