Design and Implementation of a Reconfigurable Sawless Receiver

Abstract
This paper presents a comprehensive investigation of a passive reconfigurable receiver based on 4-path receiver. The paper encompasses analytical modeling, simulations using Keysight Advanced Design System (ADS), and experimental validations with a fabricated prototype. Practical considerations such as PCB design challenges are also addressed, alongside measurement results. The receiver achieves a sensitivity of -75dBm with a measured conversion gain of -2 to -2.7 dB. It also demonstrates high rejection capabilities against blockers and maintains high linearity even in the presence of interfering signals. The measured third-order input intercept point (IIP3) is 23 dBm, indicating exceptional linearity, while the measured second-order input intercept point (IIP2) is found to be 13 dBm. The receiver proves its robust selectivity across a wide frequency range spanning from 0.1 to 0.7 GHz without the need of matching networks. Furthermore, an assessment of performance using modulated signals was carried out to verify the receiver's reconfigurability for various signal types.
