A “ONGrização” da educação pública faz parte de um dos tentáculos de um “novo capitalismo” (Souza, 2012; Dardot e Laval, 2016). O sistema capitalista está privatizando a educação pública por substituição (Catini, 2021), o que significa sucatear o sistema público de ensino, oferecendo como contrapartida à educação privada de projetos, sobretudo com ONGs. Estas, por devoção ou necessidade, sabendo disso ou não, contribuem para o aumento das desigualdades sociais, apesar de terem um discurso benevolente, engajador e de transformação da educação dos mais pobres. Por meio do estudo teórico em um grupo de pesquisa sediado em uma Universidade Pública e protagonizado por professoras da rede pública, e através da experiência profissional em ONGs de um dos autores deste artigo, problematizamos os processos pedagógicos de duas ONGs em contextos diferentes, a saber: 1) a ONG Colheita atuante no lixão de Jardim Gramacho/Duque de Caxias (contexto “fora da escola”) e 2) a ONG Plantando o novo atuante em uma escola municipal no Leblon/RJ (contexto “dentro da escola”).
