Abstract
Il presente contributo illustra l'analisi geometrica e costruttiva di una delle volte a copertura di una delle campate della navata principale della chiesa di San Miguel a Segovia, la ricerca è stata supportata da un rilievo digitale, nonché dallo studio del trattato del progettista della chiesa, Rodrigo Gil de Hontañón (1500-1577).Il testo, da lui scritto e pubblicato postumo nel 1681, è un raro caso di traduzione di regole costruttive dei lapicidi medievali spagnoli nel rinnovato spirito rinascimentale.A seguito di un rilievo laser scanner che ha coinvolto l'aula e l'estradosso del sistema voltato, la campata centrale della navata è stata ricostruita in ambiente digitale, con particolare attenzione nel definire gli elementi costruttivi nervati e le superfici di riempimento sovrastanti.A seguito di tale ricostruzione è stato possibile associare idealmente l'elemento di copertura ad una volta sferica sulla quale si impostano quattro volte cilindriche, con direttrice ad arco ogivale.Poiché il trattato di Gil propone da un lato la sequenza delle operazioni di cantiere per impostare la volta e dall'altro il dimensionamento proporzionale dei principali elementi strutturali, questi sono stati misurati e verificati, riscontrando un lieve scostamento tra il dato reale e quanto indicato nel manoscritto.
