Abstract
Est-on autochtone ou devient-on autochtone? Telle est la question qui fonde la réflexion proposée ici. En partant de l’exemple des espaces colonisés de l’Europe de la modernité, tel l’espace géographique et humain francophone, où s’est établi un processus d’enracinement, et donc d’autochtonisation, la réflexion vise à montrer qu’à la base du principe de l’autochtonie réside également une démarche initiale d’implantation que le temps cristallise, passe en mémoire puis en tradition culturelle pour générer ce qui est alors l’autochtonie. Elle vise à indiquer, également, qu’au cœur d’un tel processus subsiste un principe éthique par lequel l’implantation à la genèse de l’autochtonie repose sur la recherche de l’intégrité ou de la pérennité du groupe concerné dans l’environnement physique et non-physique considéré. De ce fait, qui devient éthique, s’exclut dès lors tout processus analogue qui repose plutôt sur l’exclusion, la discrimination ou le manque d’égard face à l’environnement susceptible de générer l’autochtonie. Dans l’œuvre de l’écrivain francophone d’Afrique subsaharienne, Félix Couchoro, ce dernier appose ainsi à l’héritage colonial la validité épistémique du principe de l’autochtonie par le rappel de l’Histoire et le recours au plurilinguisme littéraire, à percevoir alors comme pratique de discours autochtone.
