Paul Kawczak est écrivain, docteur en littérature, chargé de cours et éditeur aux éditions La Peuplade. Le 25 avril 2022, les participants et participantes du projet de recherche « Le récit de voyage à l’ère numérique. Tentative d’épuisement de l’autoroute Nord-Sud (Gaspé et Miami) » ont eu l’occasion de le rencontrer lors d’un entretien mené par Rachel LaRoche, doctorante en littératures de langue française. À partir du roman Ténèbre , pour lequel l’auteur a obtenu de nombreux prix, la discussion a porté sur les sujets du rapport au canon littéraire et à la création, de la production de l’espace, et de l’écriture romanesque. Au travers d’une réflexion sur la découpe des frontières et des corps, présente dans le texte, Kawczak et LaRoche interrogent également dans cet entretien les résonances entre la violence coloniale et la violence contemporaine des états.
