Abstract
Alors que j’arpentais les chantiers du Grand Ouest de la France en 2008 à chaque occasion qui m’était offerte, j’ai découvert un sloop bermudien de la classe 3 du RORC ( Royal Oceanic Racing Club ) avec un arrière « canoë » dessiné par Cornu en 1948. Ce magnifique petit voilier aurait pu disparaître. Eh bien non, sur l’une de ces folies qu’on ne regrette jamais, j’en ai décidé autrement. Dès l’acquisition et l’attente des premiers travaux, j’ai recherché l’histoire de ce racer-cruiser et de ses équipages… De la découverte d'un palmarès honorable et d'une histoire en lien avec l’icône de la voile française, le classement en tant que monument historique est intervenu, et c’est à cet instant que j’ai revêtu l’habit d’un passeur d’histoire et de patrimoine, et que la rédaction d’un livre est devenue une évidence pour moi.
