Abstract
Hay dos tendencias dominantes acerca de la era mesiánica en el judaísmo, restaurativa y utópica. Después de estudiar brevemente ambas tendencias y ver como ellas son entendidas por los sionistas religiosos, este estudio analiza las ideas acerca de la era mesiánica en los adventistas del séptimo día. Al parecer, la manera en que se entiende la era mesiánica tiene repercusiones en la forma en que se comprende la relación entre religión y sociedad. Aunque la visión de la era mesiánica de los adventistas tiene similitudes con la de los sionistas, ambos grupos tienen discrepancias.
