A Novel Wide-Band Unit Cell Design for Monolithic Integration with Electric Field-Induced VO2 Switches
Bibliographic record
Abstract
In this paper, a wideband 1-bit unit cell, compatible with electrically actuated Metal Insulator Transition VO<inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">2</inf> switches, is introduced for reconfigurable intelligent surfaces operating in Ka-band frequencies. The unit cell, comprising a patch working in higher order modes and enhanced by a loop structure, has been meticulously fabricated and tested. Measurements are carried out to evaluate reflection phase and magnitude properties within a waveguide setup. The measured results closely match the numerical simulations, showing a phase shift range of 134 to 186 degrees and a return loss of less than 2 dB across the 29.7 to 35 GHz frequency range, indicating a bandwidth exceeding 16%. Additionally, a distinct fabrication process is developed to effectively integrate VO<inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">2</inf> switches into unit cells. A DC test is performed to demonstrate the feasibility of actuating these switches in a series configuration by applying direct DC voltage.

Teacher imitationNot calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. Learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and 10,348 direct Gemma labels. Candidate is the union of thresholded teacher heads; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels or direct frontier model labels.

Machine scores (provisional)
The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.
Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
score_only:v0-immature-baseline · verbatim from the scoring run: score_only means the number may rank works, and no category label ships from itClassification
machine, unvalidatedMachine predicted; a candidate call from one teacher head, not a consensus.
