Abstract

This paper presents a multi-functional bianisotropic FSS for microwave frequency bands. To achieve bianisotropic properties and multi-functionality in the proposed FSS, different types of unit cells with different geometrical configurations are designed on both sides. When a linearly polarized wave is incident on the proposed FSS, it acts as a beam splitter in the frequency band of 7 to 11 GHz, a pass-band filter between 13 and 18.5 GHz, and an absorber in the frequency band of 19.75 to 20.5 GHz. On the other hand, when it hits the opposite side of the FSS, it behaves as a beam splitter in the frequency band of 7 to 11 GHz and a broadband stop filter in the frequency band of 15 to 24 GHz. With these functionalities, the proposed FSS is a suitable candidate for absorption, filtering, and beam splitting applications.
