Abstract
A frequency-adjustable dual-polarized Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) antenna is designed with the aid of Substrate Integrated Waveguide (SIW) technology. A 1 × 4 linear array of this antenna is configured to provide the condition for beam switching with dual-polarization and frequency-tunability. Two separate Butler Matrixs with wide impedance bandwidth are utilized to do the beam switching. The simulated results verified that from 3.8 GHz up to 4.4 GHz, the operating frequency can be altered electronically. This structure is a suitable candidate for base station applications since dual-polarized beam steering can be achieved.
