A Compact Full-duplex Antenna with High Isolation Using Neutralization Line

Abstract
A compact full-duplex antenna consisting of two identical patches is proposed with high isolation. The patches are placed in close proximity and connected through a neutralization line, which enhances the isolation between the antennas. Measurement results show that the proposed antenna exhibits a −10 dB impedance bandwidth, spanning from 2.35 GHz to 2.45 GHz. With a small antenna element separation of 0.05λ<inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">0</inf>, the measured isolation of the proposed antenna peaks at 53.6 dB at 2.16 GHz. The proposed antenna is suitable for use in portable full-duplex communication systems.
