Abstract
Este artículo es el resultado de una investigación sobre arte público en Canadá, el cual se centra en la ciudad de Vancouver. La primera parte es una introducción general que trata el enfoque de los itinerarios (como metodología de estudio), en el contexto canadiense y específicamente en el de Vancouver. La segunda parte es el estudio en detalle del caso del “Vancouverismo” y cómo el arte público se ha hecho manifiesto en él. Se define entonces este fenómeno urbano y sus elementos, se presenta su historia particular, y finalmente se despliega el enfoque de los itinerarios de arte público en las dos áreas urbanas específicas de False Creek Norte y Coal Harbour. Los recorridos visuales y comentados muestran como resultado las obras de arte público en contexto del Vancouverismo, comprendiendo así su valor estético en relación con la ciudad, el lugar y la memoria.
