Entrepreneurial Wellbeing of Nigerian Women Immigrant Entrepreneurs in Canada
Bibliographic record
Abstract
This chapter provides insights on Nigerian Women Immigrant Entrepreneurs (NWIEs) living in Canada. This chapter uncovers how flexible working conditions and work-life balance of NWIEs aid the creation of business ventures and lead to eudaimonic wellbeing. Furthermore, this chapter uncovers the role of faith and spirituality in the wellbeing of NWIEs, often acting as an ethical or moral compass and capable of creating a sense of contentment in immigrants preventing them from abusing opportunities and privileges in the host country. Finally, this chapter highlights the importance of cautious application of religious and cultural principles from an immigrant’s home country and the need to be open to new beliefs and practices of the host country. This chapter enhances the understanding of wellbeing for immigrant women entrepreneurs by emphasising the importance of an intersectional perspective, shedding light on the unique challenges faced by immigrant women in Canada’s labour market. In addition, the findings align with the theory of subjective wellbeing, highlighting the inherently personal nature of wellbeing and stressing the need for nuanced, context-specific approaches to support immigrant women entrepreneurs.

Full frame machine prediction
Teacher imitationNot calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)
The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.
Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
score_only:v0-immature-baseline · verbatim from the scoring run: score_only means the number may rank works, and no category label ships from itClassification
machine, unvalidatedMachine predicted; a candidate call from one source (direct Gemma or distilled Codex), not a consensus.
