Abstract
La publication en septembre 1924 des lettres qu’ont échangées Antonin Artaud et Jacques Rivière, sous le titre Une Correspondance, est saluée par André Breton. Ces lettres proposent une compréhension inédite de la vie psychique et en bousculent les représentations. Mais le déchiffrement d’Artaud est-il proche de l’expérience intérieure surréaliste, qui s’inspire de la psychanalyse freudienne et substitue la distinction du conscient et de l’inconscient à celle du normal et du pathologique ? « L’inconnu » de la Correspondance se confond-il avec la « pensée parlée » ou « l’automatisme psychique pur » du premier Manifeste ? Qu’est-ce que le surréalisme d’Artaud ?
