How is the world changing as a result of our interactions with the material core of digital devices? What theoretical tools does our humanistic culture offer us to understand the impact of technologies on our world? Referring to the methodological fields of new materialism and critical code studies, the paper presents the conditions for developing a hermeneutic analysis of computer protocols. This reflection will then be applied to the study of TCP/IP, the protocol suite implemented by the internet and one of the theoretical and functional systems that guarantees the extensive spread of digital technology in today's world. Its computational, material, and cultural components highlight the substantial interdependence between human thinking and digital systems. Comment le monde change-t-il en raison de nos interactions avec le noyau matériel des appareils numériques ? Quels outils théoriques notre culture humaniste nous offre-t-elle pour comprendre l'impact des technologies sur notre monde ? En se référant aux champs méthodologiques du nouveau matérialisme et des études critiques du code, cet article présente les conditions nécessaires à l’élaboration d’une analyse herméneutique des protocoles informatiques. Cette réflexion sera ensuite appliquée à l'étude du TCP/IP, la suite de protocoles mise en œuvre par l'internet et l'un des systèmes théoriques et fonctionnels qui garantit la large diffusion de la technologie numérique dans le monde actuel. Ses composantes computationnelles, matérielles et culturelles mettent en évidence l'interdépendance substantielle entre la pensée humaine et les systèmes numériques.
