Abstract
Pendant les procès des attentats terroristes, entre 2021 et 2024, deux archivistes des Archives nationales sont entrées dans les salles d’audience afin de documenter en direct l’action judiciaire, en se synchronisant avec les enregistrements intégraux des archives audiovisuelles de la Justice captés durant les 1334 heures de films. Depuis cette place privilégiée, l’observation de l’enregistrement vidéo interroge la place que le son occupe dans cette création d’archives. Face à l’organisation matérielle pour le restituer, micros fixes, web radio, s’opère une expérience plus sensible de l’oralité du débat judiciaire. Ce point de vue très contemporain invite à remonter le temps jusqu’aux premiers enregistrements en images animées des procès, d’abord muets jusqu’à l’interdiction de leur captation en 1954. Le retour de la caméra, voulu par Robert Badinter en 1985, est un outil d’archivage qui fixe également le son pour restituer la matérialité de quelques procès filmés et l’inscrire dans la mémoire.
