Abstract
Résumé : Cet article propose une lecture ethnocritique des oralités (mal)heureuses du roman naturaliste Les Ensevelis (1887) de l’écrivaine Georges de Peyrebrune à partir d’une scène ethnologique : le rite matrimonial. L’analyse s’intéresse au large spectre des oralités constitutives du rite et du récit en en étudiant les formes qui sémantisent et sonorisent le bonheur et le malheur (individuel, collectif, présent ou à venir). L’étude de la mise en tension et en relation des quatre pôles de l’oralité que forment le silence, le bruit, la musique et la parole permet de cerner les manières dont ce système sonore (ce « sonogramme ») du texte dramatise, dans l’économie de la narration, les désordres social (la mésalliance), cataclysmique (l’effondrement des carrières de Chancelade), historique (la fin des terroirs).
