Abstract
O presente estudo apresenta a primeira etapa do projeto de pesquisa “Estudo aprofundado da situação e necessidades de saúde de Antônio Pereira, distrito de Ouro Preto, Minas Gerais, que integra as ações do Programa de extensão e pesquisa “De Mãos dadas com Antônio Pereira” coordenado pela Universidade Federal de Ouro Preto (UFOP), Instituto Federal de Minas Gerais (IFMG) e Universidade Federal de Viçosa (UFV). O objetivo do projeto é realizar um estudo aprofundado sobre a situação e necessidades da saúde da comunidade de Antônio Pereira, no contexto de risco de rompimento e da obra de descomissionamento da Barragem de Doutor da empresa Vale S. A. Nessa etapa o estudo foi quantitativo, descritivo comparativo, com levantamento de dados do DATASUS e E-SUS, da Vigilância Sanitária da Secretaria de Saúde de Ouro Preto e da equipe de estratégia da saúde do distrito e análise documental de fontes históricas e intervenções de vivência no território. Como resultados temos uma linha histórica com as necessidades e situações de saúde no distrito ao longo do tempo e os indicadores e dados epidemiológicos da saúde do distrito. Apontamos para a emergente necessidade de incluir a saúde de forma ativa e orientada nos processos de reparação das comunidades atingidas pela atividade da mineração industrial.
