Desain Informasi merupakan salah satu pondasi dasar dalam keilmuan Desain Komunikasi Visual. Muatan materinya memiliki tingkat kegunaan yang tinggi baik di tingkat isu kuantitatif maupun kualitatif. Di antara tersebut salah satu muatannya adalah Desain Wayfinding atau terkenal dengan istilah Environtmental Graphic Design (EGD), yang juga menurunkan klasifikasi Signage di dalamnya. Eksklusivitas keilmuan ini terletak bagaimana ia memerankan informasi melalui serangkaian teks dan simbol visual (berupa ikon) namun terkemas dalam penyederhanaan bentuk hingga mencapai tingkat efektivitas bagi para pengakses. Di dalam konteks tujuan yang lebih besar, EGD sekaligus berkemampuan untuk menghadirkan suatu nilai citra yang dibutuhkan oleh lembaga terkait dalam menerapkan identitas visual di dalam unsur informasinya. Melalui metode kualitatif dan pendekatan problem based learning yang dilakukan secara berjenjang dan konsisten selama tiga tahun, tulisan ini merupakan hasil dari penelitian dalam pembelajaran yang berbuah suatu metode yang dibutuhkan secara general namun sekaligus adaptif bagi para peserta didik, di dalamnya memuat penjelasan spesifik dari apa yang telah dirancang oleh penulis mengenai sebuah skema perancangan wayfinding . Skema yang termaksud yaitu mengenai sebuah upaya penulis dalam menerapkan sebuah alur sistematis proses terkait wayfinding yang diperuntukkan bagi para peserta didik DKV, yang di dalamnya diperoleh dari hasil pengadaptasian pola Design Thinking , 5W2H, dan metode yang digunakan oleh Chriss Calori & Vanden.
