A obra de Dardot e Laval chega ao Brasil justamente no momento em que o golpe de 2016 e a intensificação da ofensiva neoliberal desafiam a esquerda a uma reflexão sobre o seu lugar no mundo. O ensaio analisa não só a gênese e a estrutura do neoliberalismo como também o papel da esquerda nesse cenário. Forjado no grupo de estudos Question Marx, aliando marxismo com o pensamento de Foucault, o livro desvela a mentalidade neoliberal para deixar clara a necessidade da criação de uma mentalidade socialista.
