Abstract
Comment saisir le moment énigmatique où la vie réglée en société bascule dans un régime insurrectionnel, voire révolutionnaire ? Les explications rationnelles ou idéologiques semblent souvent insuffisantes pour appréhender les enjeux subjectifs et sensibles au coeur d’un passage à des formes d’action collective apparemment spontanées. Les Renards pâles de Yannick Haenel (2013) et Mathias et la Révolution de Leslie Kaplan (2016) représentent ce moment de rupture et de désorganisation de la vie quotidienne en accordant une large part aux ambiances. En analysant les différents pans selon lesquels celles-ci se déploient, ainsi que les stratégies narratives et les régimes descriptifs qui les donnent à éprouver, on voit que ces romans, loin de créer un simple décor au désir révolutionnaire, offrent une lecture des liens entre individu et collectif ainsi qu’une réflexion sur les articulations entre régimes affectifs et action, qui mettent en valeur le rôle déterminant du sensible dans la motivation politique.
