Abstract
O ensaio problematiza os conceitos de inovação e tradição, apresentando para a escola um propósito de inovação no sentido formativo. Por meio de estudo hermenêutico, reflete sobre os conceitos de tradição e inovação, com amparo textual em Hans-Georg Gadamer, Hannah Arendt e Christian Laval, posiciona-se criticamente ao gerenciamento empresarial da educação. Ao defender a educação como formação, justifica a importância do tensionamento entre tradição e inovação, apresentando a proposta da inovação formativa por meio de quatro experiências: o diagnóstico crítico de época; a retomada da noção de escola como tempo livre em oposição à escola como tempo produtivo; o modo dialógico-participativo da gestão escolar e; por fim, a retomada do ócio estudioso em contraposição à facilitação didática.
