L’influence de la France paraît aujourd’hui bien moins capitale à l’histoire de la culture québécoise qu’elle ne l’a jamais été. Comme pour consommer une rupture symbolique, la critique récente se montre en effet beaucoup plus sensible aux traces de l’américanité dans les œuvres québécoises qu’à celles du vieux continent.
