Abstract
Laurence Le Guen place l’ouvrage Cent cinquante ans de photolittérature pour les enfants (2022) sous le signe d’Andersen, avec qui elle ouvre et ferme la période couverte par le volume. Cette mise en exergue souligne le lien du poète conteur à l’enfance par le biais du médium photographique. L’article s’intéresse à un corpus d’albums qui reformulent les contes d’Andersen sous l’objectif de la photographie au tournant du xxi e siècle : Le sapin de Marcel Imsand et Rita Marshall (1983), L’Effraie de Sarah Moon (2004), La petite fille aux allumettes d’Yveline Loiseur (2013). Il s’agit d’interroger les modalités et les enjeux de l’illustration photographique au service du conte intégralement rapporté, sensiblement réécrit ou seulement abrégé. Dans tous les cas, au gré de projets artistiques et/ou éditoriaux singuliers, le regard du ou de la photographe contribue à focaliser l’attention sur le monde de l’enfance et à susciter l’empathie du lecteur-regardeur.
