Abstract
L’article remet en cause la fonction des photographies dans les imagiers que Bettina Kümmerling‑Meibauer désigne par le terme anglais « early-concept books » et qui combinent des dessins et des clichés. Dans les imagiers de Kata Pap, les objets photographiés sont détournés par le dessin. Cette utilisation métaphorique va à l’encontre de l’usage objectif, réaliste et factuel, fonction primaire et objectif pédagogique assignés à la photographie. L’article interroge les études récentes en psychologie pour mettre au clair le rôle de la perception visuelle dans la formulation de concepts précoces, ainsi que le(s) rôle(s) de la photographie dans ce processus. L’utilisation détournée de la photographie semble une pratique contemporaine étendue dans le domaine de l’illustration de la littérature jeunesse. L’étude parcourt ce phénomène entre autres à travers l’oeuvre de Tineke Meirink et de Tomi Ungerer pour cerner le rôle des métaphores perceptuelles dans la culture du remix.
