Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

Chronic kidney failure and end-stage renal disease (ESRD) are increasing globally, but home hemodialysis offers a critical means of improving patient quality of life and reducing national healthcare costs. This study investigates the performance of a portable hemodialysis (HD) device named XKIDNEY. The efficacy and safety of the device were determined with focus on solute clearance, fluid balancing accuracy, and blood cell integrity in an ex-vivo test environment. A comparison of the performance of XKIDNEY and a conventional HD unit showed that XKIDNEY had superior balancing accuracy without any technical malfunction. In addition, low molecular weight solutes, such as urea and creatinine, were effectively removed. These findings demonstrate that XKIDNEY enhances treatment portability without compromising performance and indicate XKIDNEY is a feasible home hemodialysis option.

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
