Abstract
Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi wrote his books Flow , Good Work , and Good Business long before the COVID-19 global pandemic and our new digital and hybrid world of work. This chapter argues that Mihaly 's contributions to positive psychology and flow theory are even more important now when more than one-third of the working population in the United States and Canada are remote or hybrid workers. Jim Harter argued that work engagement is at its lowest level in a decade, and new strategies for enhancing optimal experience and functioning for workers, leaders, and organizations are sorely needed. As Mihaly advocated for many years, the workplace is one of the most important settings for finding and fostering flow, connection, meaning, and well-being in people's lives.
