Abstract
Durant l’Exposition coloniale internationale de 1931, la représentation du vivant et de la nature occupe une sous-section dédiée au sein de l’exposition du musée permanent des Colonies : celle des « produits coloniaux ». Le discours de vulgarisation de l’agronomie tropicale, associant les sciences et les arts, repose sur un ensemble de vitrines, de photographies lumineuses, de dioramas et de panneaux décoratifs. Cette mise en scène contribue à naturaliser la priorité donnée par l’Empire français aux produits d’exportation des colonies, au détriment des cultures vivrières des populations locales.
