Abstract
L e petit livre Pourquoi la dmocratie a besoin de la religion (2023) est la transcription d'une confrence prsente, l'invitation d'une communaut chrtienne allemande, par le sociologue Hartmut Rosa.Connu pour son ouvrage Rsonance.Pour une sociologie de la relation au monde (2018), le sociologue affili la Thorie critique de l'cole de Francfort s'interroge, au long de son oeuvre, sur les mcanismes d'alination en vigueur au sein des socits modernes occidentales.Sur cette base, il rflchit aux conditions de dpassement des pathologies sociales qui en mane et ce, par le renouvellement d'une connexion positive entre l'individu et son monde.C'est d'ailleurs ce qui constitue le propos de l'ouvrage ici recens.Rosa commence en posant un diagnostic de crise gnralise de la socit moderne et expose les problmes de la dmocratie contemporaine.Aprs avoir pris soin de prsenter ce qu'il entend par rsonance , il dveloppe sa conception de la religion comme forme particulire de celle-ci.Il termine en expliquant en quoi cette rsonance religieuse est porteuse d'un renouvellement des fondations vacillantes de la dmocratie actuelle.
