GPU Implementation of MATE for Ultrafast Simulations of Power-System Electromagnetic Transients
Bibliographic record
Abstract
In studies of Electromagnetic Transients (EMT) for Electrical Power Systems (EPS), simulation times are often high. These simulations are usually addressed using a sequential computing approach based on EMTP (Electromagnetic Transients Program) type programs; however, this approach can be slow and computationally expensive, especially when simulating very large EPS. This work reports the development of a low-cost, high-performance EMT simulation system based on parallel computing. For this, the Multi-Area Thevenin Equivalents (MATE) solution framework has been implemented in a Graphics Processing Unit (GPU). With the IEEE test network of 39 buses, the simulation times of the proposed system are compared with those of the EMTP type program, PSCAD/EMTDC®; and it is found that, by scaling the test network up to 390 simulated buses, the proposed system is up to 70 times faster.

Teacher imitationNot calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. Learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and 10,348 direct Gemma labels. Candidate is the union of thresholded teacher heads; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels or direct frontier model labels.

Machine scores (provisional)
The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.
Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
score_only:v0-immature-baseline · verbatim from the scoring run: score_only means the number may rank works, and no category label ships from itClassification
machine, unvalidatedMachine predicted; a candidate call from one teacher head, not a consensus.
