Este texto presenta una entrevista a Katta Alonso, miembro de la organización ciudadana Mujeres de Zona de Sacrificio Quintero-Puchuncaví en Resistencia, en la que ésta pone en evidencia la dramática realidad que se vive en esa región, saturada de contaminación industrial, destacando la lucha en defensa de la salud y del territorio que ha desarrollado esta organización y que inspira la performance El humo en el cuerpo, presentada el 7 de marzo de 2023 en el Centro Cultural Gabriela Mistral de Chile. Katta Alonso hace hincapié en el importante aporte del arte y la cultura para la sensibilización socioecológica de la población.
