Abstract
Abstract Three new books—Mel Y Chen, Alison Kafer, Eunjung Kim, and Julie Avril Minich’s edited Crip Genealogies, Stephanie Kerschbaum’s Signs of Disability, and Margaret Price’s Crip Spacetime—are part of a wave of academic responses to the disability justice movement. This review brings out their shared theme of a more intersectional disability studies, as well as their critique of the university, especially the failure of institutions’ approach to access for disabled and chronically ill scholars. In the wake of that failure, there are several options: intersectional gatherings, access priming, labor organizing, and building our own structures of access outside official institutional frameworks.
