Abstract
The article discusses the foreign experience of penitentiary systems in countries such as Norway, the USA, New Zealand, Australia, Spain, Portugal, Belarus, Great Britain, Canada, Germany and the possibility of its application in the modern penitentiary system of Georgia. Taking into account the analysis of international legal documents, the author of the article positively evaluates the penal practice of foreign countries and formulates a recommendation about its perception in Georgia. The material of the scientific article can later be used in the practical activities of the penitentiary institutions of the penitentiary system, as well as in the educational organizations of the Penitentiary Service of Georgia.
