Abstract: This article explores the reconfiguration of the Iliadic heroic code in a fifth-century biblical hexametric poem, the Homerocentones , attributed to the Empress Eudocia (401–460 c.e.), centering on Jesus’ Agony on the Mount of Olives as exemplary of a new type of Christian hero: a weeping Savior who can suffer in the flesh and shed tears but also demonstrates courage and earns eternal kleos . Cet article explore la reconfiguration du code héroïque de l’ Iliade dans un poème biblique en hexamètres du vème siècle, les Centons homériques , attribués à l’impératrice Eudocie (401–460 n. è.). Ce poème, qui s’articule autour de l’agonie de Jésus sur le mont des Oliviers, présente celle-ci comme emblématique d’un nouveau type de héros chrétien : un Sauveur affligé qui peut souffrir dans sa chair et verser des larmes tout en montrant du courage et qui acquiert un kleos éternel.
