Abstract
Résumer un handbook n’est pas chose facile. Ceci est d’autant plus ardu lorsque l’ouvrage s’attaque à circonscrire le concept d’intermédialité. Ce concept recouvre en effet, selon les auteur·e·s qui l’emploient, une pluralité d’acceptions. Gabriele Rippl, professeure en littérature anglo-américaine à l’Université de Berne en Suisse, a toutefois fait le pari de cartographier, dans un ouvrage de plus de 600 pages, une part du champ des études intermédiales ainsi que certaines orientations émergentes. Le projet éditorial semble clair : Rippl propose un ouvrage qui fera date, les 34 chapitres de théorie, d’analyse et de méthodologie qui composent cet imposant volume pourront servir de référence, tant pour les chercheur·e·s que pour les enseignant·e·s et leurs étudiant·e·s.
