Abstract
À travers l’édition de ce contrat d’apprentissage, nous apportons une pierre à l’édifice de la biographie de Jacques Granthomme, que l’on voit ici travailler à Paris de manière pérenne en 1601 tandis que son père, du même nom, est demeuré à Heidelberg. Originalité, c’est un jeune homme anglais, Walter Dover, qui devient son apprenti pour quatre ans, de manière gratuite. Le contrat ne concerne pas la gravure mais les autres activités de Jacques Granthomme : enluminure, impression et commerce.
