Abstract
Editorial Preface This issue of the Walailak Journal of Science and Technology is a special one for me as after this issue I will no longer be the Editor of the Journal. While this was a difficult decision to take, it has allowed me to take time to reflect on the changes we’ve witnessed in the Journal from the first issue I edited in 2006. During my seven years as Editor the Walailak Journal of Science and Technology has developed from a small, local journal into a truly international journal of science and technology which we believe provides papers of quality and interest that are accessible to everyone. This has involved great change, the most significant being the introduction of the online submission system in 2010 which has vastly increased the number of submissions as well as their quality and has led to the Journal moving from 2 issues a year to 6. In addition, authors from many different countries are now represented, a fact that is particularly pleasing for me as the Editor. The Journal has also developed a distinct style with a template now available for all our authors to improve publication times and allow them to get a better idea of how their work will appear once published in the Journal. Another significant and welcome development has been the internationalization of the Editorial Board which now includes distinguished scientists from Canada to Korea. We thank all of them and our many referees around the world for the work they do in helping to constantly improve the Journal. All of these developments have led to the Journal becoming SCOPUS listed a major achievement and one of which we are all proud. In closing I would like to thank the Editorial office staff for patiently listening to and implementing the many changes I’ve requested in my time as the Editor of the Journal. A particular thank you goes to our manager Kosin Sirirak who takes care of much of the day to day running of the Journal who has made my time as the Editor of the Journal so enjoyable. Finally, I would like to introduce the new Editor of the Journal, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chitnarong Sirisathitkul who has previously served as an associate editor and manager at the Journal.
