Abstract
Although women in the humanities may have produced more critical feminist material on their own disciplines than women in the natural and biological sciences, feminist scientists have made extremely significant contributions to understanding their experiences in the traditional patriarchal disciplines of science. Many are now beginning to question many of science’s assumptions and values. The political and epistemic privilege of science, its image as objective, verified truth etc. have made it exceptionally difficult for its practitioners to hold established scientific wisdom up for scrutiny.
