Witnessing the war in Ukraine in 2022: documentary initiatives and oral history
Bibliographic record
Abstract
In response to Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, we have seen an unprecedented rise in the production of personal evidence of war experiences. Closely following the events of the war and having initiated projects on war testimony collection, the author offers in this report a brief overview of this rapidly evolving field, focusing on projects involving oral history interviewing as a principal method of documentation. In particular, she discusses testimony collection projects that were publicly announced and pursued throughout the first year since the full-scale invasion, reflecting on the scope, parameters, foci, and oral historical nature of the material collected. As the evidence is expected to become the historiographic basis for the future study of the Russian war in Ukraine, she advocates for an appreciation of the impact of the interactive nature of the interview at the actual time of recording.
Fetched live from OpenAlex and de-inverted. Abstracts are not stored in this database: the inverted indexes are 8.6 GB of the frame’s 9.3 GB of text, and the host has 13 GB free.

Machine scores (provisional)
The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.
Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
score_only:v0-immature-baseline · verbatim from the scoring run: score_only means the number may rank works, and no category label ships from itClassification
