Наприкінці 1980-х років посилилися суспільно-політичні зміни, які надали можливість закарпатським угорцям сформулювати нові цілі, створити організації для захисту своїх інтересів, розвивати мережу освітніх закладів, акцентуючи на місцях некомпактногопроживання угорців та на здобутті вищої освіти. Для угорської громади на Закарпатті, якій довелося зіткнутися з економічними труднощами та масовою міграцією, саме освіта угорською мовою стала тим чинником, який сприяв ухваленню рішення залишатися на рідній землі, збереженню та розвитку рідної мови.«Двадцять два» – це назва книги, що описує історію і розвиток освіти угорською мовою на Закарпатті впродовж 22-ох років нового тисячоліття. Видання дає відповіді на актуальні запитання про роль регіональних мовних варіантів в освіті, особливості викладання рідної мови в умовах компактного проживання нацменшин, наскільки сприяють навчальні програми та підручники, використовувані в закарпатських школах, формуваннюмовної толерантності й мововживання, що підлаштовується до розмовної ситуації. Авторамикниги є викладачі Закарпатського угорського інституту ім. Ференца Ракоці ІІ Аніко Берегсасі та Катерина Дудич-Лакатош.
