Abstract

O neoliberalismo, caracterizado por um conjunto de políticas econômicas e sociais que evidencia a liberalização dos mercados, a privatização, a desregulamentação e a redução do papel do Estado, tem, historicamente, um impacto significativo nas políticas de educação no Brasil, marcadamente, a partir dos anos 1990. O presente trabalho tem por objetivo analisar como o projeto neoliberal se materializa na educação pública brasileira através de mecanismos de políticas de Estado associados à privatização e mercantilização da educação; desigualdade social e segregação socioeconômica; falta de investimento público; aos modelos de gestão empresarial focados em indicadores de desempenho; à flexibilização curricular voltada para o mercado de trabalho, bem como às reformas educacionais promovidas com o fim último de beneficiar grandes conglomerados financeiros. Tais mecanismos são chamados à luz do dia com o intuito de contornar a crise estrutural do capital na qual o mundo globalizado está inserido, criando novos campos econômicos e mercados a serem explorados pelo capital. Trata-se, assim, de um estudo teórico-bibliográfico em que serão discutidas, principalmente, as obras de Marx (2013), Mészáros (2002, 2011) e Laval (2016, 2019). Pode-se inferir que o projeto neoliberal possui interesses antagônicos aos de um projeto de educação pública, gratuita e de qualidade, em que pese a formação integral do sujeito.
