Abstract
Jorgen Ditlev Scheel entered the Foreign Service of Denmark in 1943 and was posted to Bern and London. Between 1961 and 1979 he was consul general in Canada and ambassador in Tunisia, Algeria, Libya, Colombia, Ecuador, Panama, Costa Rica and Nicaragua. He contributed to general and specialized publications on automotive history and automobile technology. Since 1988 he was a contributing editor of “Automobile Quarterly.” He died on February 14, 1992 in Green Valley, Ontario, Canada.
