Abstract
Pulmonary arteriovenous malformations (PAVMs) are uncommon erroneous connections between the pulmonary artery and vein without an interconnecting capillary network. Approximately 70% of PAVMs are the result of hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia,1 a genetic condition. PAVMs most commonly originate from the pulmonary artery, with drainage to the pulmonary veins.
