Abstract
Cet article tente d’expliquer en quoi les archives sonores ont le pouvoir de produire une atmosphère hantée par la ruine, la désorientation et l’épuisement. Prenant pour objet d’analyse des œuvres appartenant au genre Dark Ambient, le propos de cet article prolonge les recherches sur l’aisthétique et l’atmosphère telles qu’elles sont menées entre autres par Gernot Böhne, et s’inscrit dans un projet de recherche-création qui vise l’établissement d’une sonographie du désastre. Le présent article aborde la question de l’archive sonore par la voie de leur phénoménologie et propose d’étudier, à partir de celle-ci, de quelle manière il est possible, par la création musicale, d’en dégager une ambiance chargée d’affect. Nous chercherons à déduire de cette étude que l’usage des archives au sein du Dark Ambient consiste moins à représenter la mémoire à l’œuvre qu’à instaurer un Medium (un milieu de perception) par lequel se perçoit l’effondrement du monde contemporain.
