Abstract
Abstract This review essay discusses recent works on Hungarian popular culture. It connects books published in Hungarian with secondary literature in English and German. It contextualizes the topic from a broader perspective while also highlighting how the reviewed works contribute to the acquisition of new knowledge about the coming into being and the changing shapes of Hungarian popular culture between the nineteenth and the mid-twentieth centuries.
