Abstract
Artikel ini meninjau kembali konseptualisasi-konseptualisasi musik dan tari Anglophone melalui sebuah investigasi tentang interkonektivitas suara, lirik, dan gerak dalam Rano. Sebuah tradisi adat suku Kaili di Sulawesi Tengah, Indonesia, Rano didasarkan pada eksekusi gerak-gerak melingkar dalam sebuah putaran melodi tunggal yang meliputi konstruksi “spontan” atas syair-syair yang dinyanyikan. Dengan mempertimbangkan keterkaitan-keterkaitan antara strategi analitik mengenai suara dalam etnomusikologi dan gerak dalam etnokoreologi, artikel ini memosisikan tubuh sebagai lokus budaya guna kajian tentang kontinum suara-gerak dalam tradisi-tradisi Asia Tenggara.
