Kisah Sese nTaola termasuk dalam literatur orang-orang ber-bahasa Bare'e di negara bagian Tojo, wilayah pesisir yang dibatasi di timur oleh Tanjung Api, dan di barat oleh Sungai Malei (sekitar 120.52 derajat timur dari Gorontalo). Kisah ini ditulis pada bulan Agustus 1898 seperti yang diceritakan oleh i Parala, biasanya dikenal dengan nama panggilan Ta Aji (paman A), seorang pria Sausu sejak lahir, menikah dengan To Lage yang tinggal di sekitar muara Sungai Poso, di mana ia telah tinggal selama bertahun- tahun.
